about

Recorded June 21, 2010.

In the spring of 2010, Brandon decided to take a hiatus from the band as he explored the possibility of moving out west. During our downtime, we were contacted by Andy Schipferling, bass player for Wausau metallers Power Plant, to see if we were available to play a show. We replied that we were without a drummer at the moment, and Andy replied that their drummer could fill in. Enter Paul Kraus to the downgrade fold. Paul brought a solid, hard-hitting energy to the band, while keeping things laid back and fun. This track is from a practice session during that short time together, which blossomed into a great partnership and friendship with the Power Plant crew. We remain good friends and we are glad to see them playing live once again after a long hiatus.

lyrics

now i thank god we've reached the end
empty roads ahead of me
i've got the wind all around me, and
my precious angel's next to me
i won't tell no one where i'm going
i won't be found for two more days
i'm headed northbound, to where the sunshine sings
and by night, we'll fly with devils wings

clear skies and lakes are calling now
green trees are beckoning to me
and if you listen very closely
you'll hear them calling out to thee
i won't tell no one where i'm going
i won't be found for two more days
i'm headed northbound, to where the music rings
and my angel comes down on me with gilded wings
